Fitness club hosts Run for Freedom 5K

The H-F Racquet and Fitness Club in Homewood recently conducted the Run for Freedom, the second race of its annual H-F Summer 5K Circuit.
The race drew more than 170 runners; it started and ended at the Lions Club Park and Pool in Homewood.
The top finishers in the Men’s Division were Pete Jaros (16:58.1), David Cooke (17:47.2), John O’Malley (18:07.3), Brian Knetl (18:30.1) and Mike Brunette (18:52.7).
In the Women’s Division, the top finishers were Ayanna Dowd (24:09.8), Heather O’Malley (25:25.8), April Bernath (25:53.3), Margaret Hockenberry (26:06.7) and Melanie Hamilton (26:12.4).
The overall circuit standings, a combination of the Apollo 5K and the Run for Freedom, are Men’s Division David Cooke (first), Brian Knetl (second) and Mike Brunette (third). In the Women’s Division the top three were Ayanna Dowd (first), April Bernath (second) and Margaret Hockenberry (third).
