South Shore Arts will begin its fall term of classes the week of Oct. 1 at its locations in Munster, Crown Point and Hammond.
Classes include a variety of pre-school, children’s and adult classes, including drawing, painting, pottery, fantasy drawing, photography (35mm and digital), cartooning, mixed media, as well as Photoshop levels I and II.
In Munster, classes meet in art studios on the lower level of The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road.
Classes generally run 10 weeks during the fall term. Prices vary, depending on length of class and supplies.
New this session is “Music together in Munster” for ages birth through 5 with a caregiver. Call for information about a free “Music together In Munster” demonstration class.
The South Shore Arts Crown Point branch, 123 N. Main St., offers classes in painting, pottery, drawing, manga, introduction to digital camera techniques, and various children’s and adult classes. There are numerous one-day workshops also being offered.
South Shore Arts Hammond site, Substation No. 9, 435 Fayette St., offers classes in airbrushing, painting, drawing, Photoshop levels I and II, a senior art workshop, and more. All Hammond residents taking classes at Substation No. 9 pay half price. Proof of residency is required upon registration.
Register by Sept. 13 and save 10 percent on most classes. Discounts also are available for South Shore Arts members on most classes.
