Christmas help: The Salvation Army Hammond-Munster Corps is accepting applications for the Christmas Assistance Program from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7 at 8225 Columbia Ave., Munster. To learn about required information and identification, call 838-0380. This service is provided for residents of Cedar Lake, Dyer, Griffith, Hammond, Highland, Lowell, Munster and St. John.
PORTER COUNTY
Christmas help: The Salvation Army Porter County Corps Community Center is accepting applications from people who need help with food, clothing and toys during the 2012 Christmas season. Porter County residents need to apply in person at The Salvation Army, 799 Capitol Road, South Haven, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 9. Do not bring children because space is limited and child care is not available. To learn about required information and identification, call 762-9191.
