Bear workshop: Stitching together memories of lost loved ones

Volunteers worked through a recent morning at the Geisen Reception Centre with people who have lost a loved one in the past year make a memorable keepsake during Geisen Funeral Home’s semiannual Memory Bear Workshop, where teddy bears are made from articles of clothing that belonged to a family member who passed away. Volunteer Tina Rosenbaum (left) worke with Elaine Hemphill to create a keepsake bear in memory of Hemphill’s husband. The program is open to any family member who has recently lost a loved one . There is no cost, but reservations are required. Volunteers with basic sewing skills are also sought.
