Go Red Zumbathon: The city’s Zumbathon fundraiser is being held Friday, Nov. 16, at the Marquette Park Pavilion, 1 N. Grand Blvd. Doors open at 6 p.m., with Zumba beginning at 7. Cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. City employees pay $10. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. For more details, call 881-1314.

Ground-breaking event: The city hosts a groundbreaking for Travel Centers of America at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 3001 Grant St.

Harvest Feast: The 21st annual Harvest Feast begins with a service at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2307 Rhode Island St., followed by a traditional Thanksgiving meal. State Rep. Vernon G. Smith, D-Gary, sponsors the Feast yearly as a memorial to his mother, the late Rev. Julia E. Smith.

Thanksgiving giveaway: A citywide Thanksgiving giveaway is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Genesis Convention Center, 5th Avenue and Broadway. Churches or organizations interested in distributing food, vouchers, toiletries, information, etc., should call 881-1314 or email gcarpenter@ci.gary.in.us.
