Holiday shopping: The Dyer
Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring the 11th annual holiday shopping spree and craft show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday, Nov. 17, at Kahler Middle School, 600 Joliet St. Admission is free. Call 865-2505 for more information.
HAMMOND
Zumbathon: A Zumbathon is being held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Crossroads YMCA Hammond Branch, 7322 Southeastern Ave. Cost is $10 per person. Registration continues through Wednesday, Nov. 21. Snacks and water are provided. Babysitting is free for members and $5 per child for nonmembers. A raffle will be held during the break. CROWN POINT
Tree- and tank-lighting ceremonies: The holiday season kicks off with a tree-lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, on the east side of the Lake County courthouse. The Crown Point High School Choir and Harmony Hand Bells perform. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served. The tank-lighting ceremony begins about 6 p.m. at the corner of Main and Goldsboro streets.
