Toys for Tots: An application session for the Marines Toys for Tots program will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Church of God in Christ, 5718 W. 9th Ave. Children must be receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, food stamps, Medicaid, etc. Bring a proof-of-eligibility printout with the name of every child in the household, along with a state-issued picture identification.

Tree decorating: The annual “Tree Decorating Naturally” family event will run from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Gibson Woods Nature Preserve, 6201 Parrish Ave. The program is free. Participants will help trim the holiday tree with unique ornaments and other dried natural finds. Participants also may bring decorating materials to share. Make an ornament for the tree and one to take home. Registration is required; call 844-3188 for more information.
