Drivers beware: I recently got a ticket sitting at the light at Ridge Road and Grant Street, where there’s a new “No turn on red” sign. It’s never been there before. It’s new. And I noticed all the way from Ridge Road and Grant all the way to 33rd Avenue they put unnecessary “No turn on red” signs. So be careful, the police are looking to catch you.
The Crown Point Redevelopment Commission proposes spending half a million dollars to landscape Crown Point Interstate 65 interchanges. Surely there is a better way to use RDC tax monies?
Someone hit a deer Saturday evening around 8:30 in front of our house on Randolph Street. It ended up three feet away but parallel to our mailbox, which is on the shoulder area, so it was out of traffic. Can anyone explain to me what would possess some guy in a red car to pull to into our driveway and move the carcass onto our grass?
I would like to thank the Central Elementary School in Portage for a wonderful program honoring vets. My granddaughter, Sophie, invited me to their program. They sang songs, said the Pledge of Allegiance, and had the vets introduce themselves and state their branch of service. The students and teachers applauded each of us. Congratulations to the teachers and students for the wonderful service.
