Christmas toy and clothing giveaway: St. Timothy Community Church, 1600 W. 25th Ave., will have its annual Christmas toy and clothing giveaway from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Adults will make selections of the toys at the giveaway. Call 977-0079 for more information.

Open house: The Gary Area Career Center, 1800 E. 35th Ave., will have its annual open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. Fifteen courses related to college and career readiness have been added. Guests will have a chance to tour the program areas. Giveaways for the first 150 attendees will be handed out, and gifts and services will be raffled all evening. Call 962-7571 for more information.

219 Steppers event: The 219 Steppers seventh-year anniversary Sagittarius-Capricorn event, “Steppin’ in Jeans & Bling,” starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Genesis Convention Center, 5th Avenue and Broadway.
