Christmas event: The Indiana Welcome Center’s exhibit “A Christmas Story Comes Home” continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, with added features. The event includes live entertainment and a viewing of the movie “A Christmas Story” at 1 and 3 p.m. Fudge puppies will be sold, and photos with Santa will be available for $5. A scavenger hunt and games of bingo are free. The Welcome Center, 7770 Corinne Drive, is at the Kennedy Avenue south exit for Interstate 80-94. For more information, call 989-7770.
Holiday ball: Phi Beta Psi’s annual holiday ball is Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Hobart Elks Lodge, 3580 W. 61st Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 and an open bar. Santa story time and visit: Santa Claus is coming to the Lowell Public Library at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, so bring a camera. Each child will be given a candy treat and a coloring sheet of Santa. Santa will visit Lowell’s branch libraries on Saturday, Dec. 8 — the Shelby Branch at 10 a.m. and the Schneider Branch at 12:30 p.m.
