Radio-a-thon volunteers sought: Volunteers are needed to man the phones for the I.U. Dons Inc. and Donnettes radio-a-thon being held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, on WLTH-AM (1370). The event is part of the 43rd annual penny-a-thon drive for the needy. The radio-a-thon is being broadcast from McDonald’s Restaurant, 35th Avenue and Grant Street. Holiday benefit brunch: Big Joe’s 22nd annual men and boys holiday benefit brunch is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at Miller Pizza Company, 622 S. Lake St. Proceeds benefit Marquette Kids Park. Cost is $10 per person or free for kids who use the park.
