Nominations open: Nominations for the third annual Influential Women of Northwest Indiana awards are open. Nominate women professionals at the website nwiwomen.com. Nominations are also being accepted for the Empowering Business of the Year for companies that demonstrate excellence in supporting women’s success in Indiana. The Influential Woman of the Year and Up-and-Coming Woman of the Year award categories include: healthcare, finance, government, construction/interior design, service/tourism, education, manufacturing, law, economic development, media/marketing and nonprofit. The awards will be presented at a banquet May 23, 2013.
CROWN POINT
Space available: The city is accepting vendor applications for the 2013 farmers market, which opens July 1. The market operates from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Sept. 28 on South Main Street. The city is offering a discount on the seasonal rate to vendors who sign up by the end of this year. Vendors who take advantage of the offer pay $214 for the season instead of $240.75. Applications must be received by Friday, Dec. 28. Applications are available at www.crownpoint.in.gov, or call 662-3290.
