The competition to determine the fastest car at Team Toyota in Schererville was fierce Feb. 9.
Cub Scout Pack 512 held its annual Pinewood Derby races that Saturday with 32 entries racing down the aluminum racetrack spanning the length of the showroom. More than 100 scouts, parents, siblings and grandparents cheered their favorite Pinewood cars.
Wolf Den scout Aaron Fleming’s streamlined army tank won the first-place trophy. Brothers Erik and Cory Napiwocki won second and third place, respectively.
Scouts also won for their creative work, including recognition for Best Sports Car, Most Patriotic and the “Dude, That’s Awesome!” trophy.
