Hunter’s education safety course: The two-day Lake County Parks course is being held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 15, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Cedar Creek Family Golf Center, 10483 W. 109th Ave. Participants must attend both sessions and pass a written test. Community garden: The Community Garden at Foundation Meadows Park has garden plots available at 3210 N. Campbell St. Plots are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $25. For reservations, call 464-5144.
Garden club meets: The monthly meeting of the Miller Garden Club is being held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, at the Marquette Park aquatorium (bathhouse), 6918 Oak Ave. Rebecca Sasak speaks about organic gardening and raising chickens. Meetings are open to anyone. Refreshments will be served.
