Spring cleaning: The Merrillville Public Works Department is collecting branches and leaves Monday, April 1, through Saturday, April 6, for residents who live north of 73rd Avenue, and Monday, April 8, through Saturday, April 13, for residents who live south of 73rd Avenue.
Pantry on the Go: Northwest Indiana McDonald’s Owners/Operators and the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana are co-sponsoring the Pantry on the Go program, which brings a truck-load of fresh food to distribute in underserved communities. Pantry on the Go stops from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, March 25, at the Village Park and Enrichment Center at Banta, 605 Beech St. Recipients must bring valid proof of residency. “The Dunes Highway and Northwest Indiana in the 1920s”: The Duneland Historical Society meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Westchester Township Public Library Service Center, 100 W.
