Pampering with a purpose: The Gary Health Department is sponsoring a free event in recognition of child abuse awareness month, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April, 19 at the Genesis Convention Center, 5th Avenue and Broadway. Adults can enjoy makeup demonstrations, hair care and styling techniques, chair and hand massages, mini-manicures, workshops, child care, goody bags and more. R.S.V.P. by Friday, April 12.
