Two join United Way: Lou Martinez, president of the Lake Area United Way, has announced two additions to the organization’s Resource Development Team. Shellie Dell, of Crown Point, has been appointed relationship manager. She will be responsible for relationships with corporate partners, member agencies and community volunteers. Evelyn Harris, also of Crown Point, has been appointed development associate. Her duties will include assisting with implementation of LAUW’s fundraising plan.
Grants available: South Shore Clean Cities has issued a request for proposals for the BP–Cleaner Air through Diesel Emission Reductions grant program. The program is aimed at improving air quality in Lake County through Diesel Emission Reductions projects. Funds totaling $450,000 will be available to support qualified projects submitted by Lake County municipalities, other local public agencies, public schools and not-for-profit hospitals.
