Koran by Heart: The Michigan City Library, 100 E. Fourth St., is showing the film “Koran By Heart” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. The documentary follows three 10-year-old children who leave their native countries to participate in the International Holy Koran competition in Cairo, Egypt. Back to School Jamboree: Begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Indiana University Northwest, 3400 Broadway. The first 300 students will receive free school supplies. Activities will be held for students of all age groups, including a three-on-three basketball tournament, double dutch contest and video game tournaments, dance competition, finger painting, drawing, face painting.
