PNC college fair: Representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities will be at Purdue University North Central on Sept. 19 for its 29th College Fair. The fair begins at 6 p.m. Area high school and middle school students, as well as interested adults, will have a chance to find out more about academic programs, application procedures, campus life, costs, and other aspects of college life. Financial aid presentations will be offered at 6 and 7 p.m. College representatives will meet with students and answer questions until 7:45 p.m. All events will take place in the PNC Library-Student-Faculty Building. The College Fair is free and open to the public and advance registration is not required. The PNC campus is located just south of the junction of the Indiana Toll Road and U.S. 421. Community service: The University of Evansville announced that the following local students participated in the Freshman Service Project on Monday, Aug. 26: Devin Bafia of Valparaiso, Samantha Frost of Dyer, Michael Novak of Crown Point, Dariel Sewell of Merrillville, Kayla Sheets of Cedar Lake, Katrina Smedley of Hammond and Liberty Stratton of Crown Point. The community service project sent new UE students to 20 locations throughout Evansville to perform tasks ranging from painting to cleaning to landscaping.
