Reality Store: Volunteers are needed for the Envision the Future–Reality Store on Friday, Nov. 16 at Col. Wheeler Middle School, 401 W. Joliet St. The Reality Store, sponsored by the Crossroads Chamber of Commerce, is a life simulation for area eighth-graders, who make simulated financial and educational choices. Volunteers will attend a training session at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at Indiana Wesleyan University. The Reality store lasts from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers may share their “role” with a co-worker, or work one of the following shifts: 7 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Call Vicky at 756-4309 or email email@example.com with questions.
Drug symposium: A drug-free workplace symposium hosted by Empower Porter County and the Valparaiso, Duneland and Portage chambers of commerce will provide information and allow an exchange of ideas intended to reduce the liability of employers, ensure the safety of employees, and increase productivity.
