Free tax preparation: Free state and federal income tax preparation for 2011 for those who qualify is being offered at The United Way of Porter County, 951 Eastport Center Drive. Qualifications include an adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less and includes low to moderate taxpayers and the elderly. Tax preparations are by appointment from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to
noon Saturdays Feb. 18, March 3, 17, 31 and April 7 and 14.
