Homecoming at IUN is Jan. 24

Indiana University Northwest is kicking off the spring semester with the energy and excitement of its fourth annual homecoming for men’s and women’s basketball Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Savannah Center gym.

The Lady RedHawks will play Andrews University of Berrien Springs, Mich., at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 7:30.

Ticket prices per person vary. Students and military personnel and their families, game only, free; game plus food, $5. Adults, game only, $5; game plus food, $10. Children 5 to 12, game only, $3; game plus food, $5. Children 4 and younger, game only, free; game plus food. $5

Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance from the Office of Student Life and Athletics, Savannah Center, Room 217.

Now in its first year as an NAIA varsity sport, the coed cheer squad will perform its award-winning routines. A DJ, games and airbrush tattoos also will contribute to the high energy of the event. In addition, Gary Weed and Seed will promote its Boys and Girls Club programs for area youth.

The Savannah Center is on the northeast corner of the campus, at 33rd Avenue and Broadway in Gary. Due to construction at that intersection, visitors might have to reroute to 35th Avenue and travel west to Jefferson Street, then turn north on Jefferson to reach the main campus parking lots at 33rd Avenue, just west of Broadway. Detour and event parking signs will be posted.

For more information, call the Office of Student Life and Athletics at 980-6746.
