Exes battled outside elementary school
Cari Branshaw, 33, of Chesterton, was arrested after she allegedly attacked a 34-year-old ex-boyfriend while attending a relative’s basketball practice at about 6 p.m. Wednesday at Union Township Elementary School.
The 34-year-old victim, from Wheeler, told police that as he was leaving, Branshaw confronted him in the school parking lot, at 272 N. County Road 600W, blaming him for her boyfriend getting into legal trouble. Branshaw admitted to police she “went after” the victim, who had a scratch on his neck. She was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery.
