Real, fake guns taken in burglary

Two real guns and a fake but realistic one were stolen in a residential burglary between 3:15 and 7 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the police report, the bedrooms of the home in the 5500 block of Batson Avenue were ransacked.

A black 9mm Taurus semi-automatic handgun, a silver Smith & Wesson .44 magnum revolver with a wooden handle and a silver faux western revolver were taken from a bedroom closet, and two flashlights were missing from the kitchen.

The loss is approximately $870. Police said the home’s back door was damaged from someone kicking it.

The victim received a suspicious phone call the evening before the burglary, from someone who supposedly needed to get a signature for his life insurance policy and wanted to know what time he got home from work. The victim believes the caller was involved in the burglary.
