Woman allegedly batters again
Carole Gallegos, 42, of rural Valparaiso, was arrested Thursday morning for allegedly attacking a 52-year-old man with her fists and a windshield wiper. The victim is the same man whom Gallegos was convicted of battering in 2010, police said.
Gallegos seemed drunk, according to police, was standing in her driveway and said she was locked out of the house, when officers arrived at about 5:10 a.m. to the 600 block of North County Road 50W, in Liberty Township.
Inside, the man had cuts on his face and the back of his head and told police Gallegos, who had been up drinking since about 7 p.m. Wednesday, attacked him as he tried to leave for work.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene, and police arrested Gallegos for felony domestic battery.

Sneezing blamed for erratic driving
Nathan White blamed his erratic driving on a “sneezing attack,” but police said it was because he was drunk.
An off-duty officer called police around 4:40 p.m. Thursday about White’s driving on Willowcreek Road. Another officer stopped him after he crossed over U.S. 20 into Indiana 249.
White, 30, of Portage, was arrested for drunken driving, a felony because of a prior conviction.
He also is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. White said both must have been left in the vehicle by a friend. White also reportedly admitted to using heroin, police said.
