Porter County Courts Report

VALPARAISO

V-Line sued by injured passenger

A woman is suing Valparaiso’s bus line for an accident that happened Oct. 21.

According to a suit filed Feb. 13, the woman was a passenger on the V-Line bus when it stopped short, ejecting her from her seat.

The suit has been filed against both V-Line and Ride Right LLC, the Missouri-based company that runs the V-Line.

The suit does not indicate what her injuries are, or where and why the sudden stop occurred. It does state that the woman, a Rebecca Short, suffered “permanent and temporary injuries, pain and suffering, emotional trauma and stress, as well as hospital and medical bills.”

Neither the city attorney nor Short’s attorney returned calls about the matter.
