Twenty-year-old Jonathan Knopf, of Valparaiso, died Sunday night following what police believe was an alcohol-related crash.
At 10:25 p.m., Knopf was driving a Buick car south on Indiana 2 when, around County Road 350 South, he lost control. The Buick ran off the road and rolled onto its roof. It is unknown if speed was a factor in the crash, police said.
Knopf was transported to St. Anthony Health center in Crown Point, where he died of his injuries, police said. Toxicology tests will be performed by the Lake County coroner. Two passengers, ages 17 and 18, sustained minor injuries.
