Burglar breaks glass to unlock door
A home was broken into between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday on County Road 500W, southwest of Valparaiso. Police said the culprit broke the glass of the back door so he could reach in and unlock the door. A tall jewelry box was rummaged through, although it was not immediately known what was stolen, police said.
Go-kart, mower stolen from home
A go-kart and a lawn mower were reported stolen between 12:30 and 6 a.m. Wednesday from the driveway of a home in the 600 block of North County Road 450W. The missing Critter go-kart, worth $400, has a red exterior with black seats and a roll bar. The riding lawn mower is a green and yellow Craftsman worth an estimated $200.
