Two face charges after gun fired

Two men face multiple charges an argument escalated to one man allegedly firing a handgun at about 2:30 a.m. Friday outside a multi-family housing complex in the 5300 block of Plaza Avenue. Resident John Andresen, 31, was charged with misdemeanor public intoxication and disorderly conduct, and he also was arrested on warrants from Porter and LaPorte counties. Jeremy Loggins, 30, of rural LaPorte, whose girlfriend lives in the apartment complex, was arrested for felony criminal recklessness with a gun and numerous misdemeanors: possession of a gun without a permit, false informing, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

PORTER COUNTY

No forced entry in home burglary

Two antique toy guns and the titles and registration paperwork for three vehicles were reported stolen Wednesday or Thursday from a home in the 1600 block of North County Road 500E, possibly while the resident was at a funeral, the victim told police. There was no sign of forced entry. The wooden guns, worth an estimated $100, were taken from a closet, police said.
