Last week, a Wal-Mart asset protection employee presented Valparaiso police with $510 in counterfeit bills she said the store, at 2400 Morthland Drive, received sometime in June. The fake money consisted of eight $20 bills and 35 $10 bills, police said.

gets man arrested
During a traffic stop at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday, at LaPorte Avenue and Harmel Drive, police arrested passenger Kareem King II, 19, of Valparaiso, for misdemeanor false informing and on a Porter County warrant for felony theft. Police said King initially gave a false name when questioned.
