VALPARAISO
Man points gun at bar employee
James “Jay” Daniels, 35, of Valparaiso, was arrested after pointing what looked like a shotgun, but actually was a BB gun, at a Franklin House employee who threw him out of the bar at about 2:05 a.m. Monday.
The employee told police that Daniels had been harassing patrons throughout the night, and he made him leave the bar, at 58 Campbell St., after he overheard him making a threat referring to a gun.
He said Daniels refused to leave, so he forcibly pushed him through the door and waited outside to make sure he left.
However, Daniels reportedly got the gun out of his truck and appeared to be aiming it at the employee, who ran inside. Another patron had gotten Daniels’ phone number, and his cell phone company helped police track him to his home, where he was arrested on two felony charges, intimidation with a deadly weapon and intimidation.
