Numerous vehicle tires flattened

The tires of at least eight vehicles were flattened overnight Saturday in Shorewood Forest. Victims called police from the 100 block of Guilford Road, the 100 block of Shorewood Drive and the 300 block of Wilshire Court. Some of the vehicles had only one tire damaged, but most had more. Police said it appeared at least some of the tires were punctured with a small, flat object.

Valuable items stolen from yards

At about 7 a.m. Friday, a resident of the 400 block of Forestwood Drive, in Shorewood Forest, put a red Ariens snow blower, worth $1,200, at the end of his driveway to be picked up for maintenance. It was gone when the business scheduled to do the work arrived to get it at about 9:30 a.m.

A Jeep running stroller, worth $170, was reported stolen Nov. 7 or 8 from the front yard of a home in the 500 block of Sunshine Drive, in Salt Creek Commons. The owner told police that when she set the baby stroller outside to dry, a man picking through trash in the neighborhood had asked if he could have it, to sell as scrap metal.

A number of aluminum rims and tires were reported stolen overnight Nov. 8 from in front of a home in the 1600 block of Idaho Avenue, in the Pines. The owner told police he operates a charity, Full Circle, which raises money for a local food pantry and the Catholic church by buying and selling tires and rims. Thirteen GMC rims and 12 tires were taken, which the owner valued at more than $4,000.

Property missing from garage, shed

A generator, worth an estimated $900, was reported stolen between 8 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Tuesday from a locked shed in the 700 block of Long Run Road in South Haven. The generator and its tank were on a two-wheel cart.

A chainsaw worth nearly $400 was stolen from a garage between Nov. 6 and Saturday, south of Valparaiso in the 500 block of Eagle Court. The homeowner told police garage’s side door may have been accidentally left unlocked.
