Speeding leads to felony drug charges
Justin Crowell, 34, of Valparaiso, was arrested on felony drug charges and for driving with a suspended license, a misdemeanor, after being stopped for allegedly going 46 mph in a 30 mph zone, at about 11:35 a.m. Wednesday on Silhavy Road at Burlington Beach Road. Police found in the vehicle a number of pills in the vehicle — narcotics and weight loss medication — which were not prescribed to Crowell.

Meds possibly stolen by visitor
A 54-year-old rural Valparaiso resident reported 30 pills were stolen from a prescription bottle in his jacket between Nov. 21 and 24. He told police he believes the theft happened at his apartment, in the 300 block of West U.S. 6, noting he has a lot of visitors.
