Unlocked BMW stolen, with diamond
A blue 2003 BMW was reported stolen between noon Monday and 1 p.m. Thursday from a condominium’s shared garage in the 900 block of Misty Glen, north of Valparaiso High School. A 1.5-carat diamond ring and the car’s key were inside the unlocked vehicle, the owner told police, estimating his loss at $17,500.
Shotgun missing from vehicle
A shotgun was reported stolen between 12:15 and 7 a.m. Thursday from an unlocked vehicle in the 400 block of Madison Street. The vehicle owner told police he forgot to lock the vehicle and the Remington 12-gauge shotgun belongs to a friend. In the same time frame, a wallet was taken from a second unlocked vehicle parked at the address, according to the police report. The wallet, minus two credit cards, was found soon after at Campbell and Chicago streets.
