Porter County animal shelter holds benefit and adoption event

VALPARAISO – The Porter County Animal Shelter is sponsoring “Home for the Holidays,” an adoption event and benefit, on Saturday at the Valparaiso Elks Lodge 500, 157 Jefferson St.
An all-ages family adoption event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m., with several dogs and cats available for adoption; family pet photos with “Santa Paws” for $10; door prizes and kids games; and appetizers and a cash bar.
A benefit concert, for those 21 and up, will be held from 8 p.m. to midnight. The event will feature live music by Chester Brown and Stealin’ the Farm; raffles and a silent auction; and appetizers and a cash bar.
Admission is free, though donations will be accepted at the door.
