Man accused of pointing rifle
A Valparaiso man accused of pointing a rifle at a police officer who tried to help the man has been charged with three Class D felonies.
James T. Pyle, 82, was allegedly walking down Meridian Road and carrying an unloaded rifle on the morning of Nov. 26 when police stopped to ask him if he was OK. An officer said Pyle pointed the Springfield long rifle at him.
Pyle faces up to three years on each felony, intimidation, criminal recklessness and resisting law enforcement.
