Too dark windows led to charges
Excessively dark window tint on his vehicle reportedly led police to stop Brian Johnson, 24, of Hobart, at about 12:15 a.m. Friday at Dombey Road and Marquette Avenue. When confronted about the smell of burnt marijuana, Johnson allegedly admitted having smoked it a few hours before. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two baggies of marijuana and eight marijuana cigarette butts, plus another person’s prescription bottle with 41.5 Adderall pills and one-and-a-half Vicodin pills. Johnson was arrested on two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and felony maintaining a common nuisance; and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a handgun without a permit.
