Suspended license leads to charges
A nonworking license plate light led police to stop Kimberly Hart, 38, of Gary, at about 1:15 a.m. Friday at County Line Road and Stone Avenue. She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license and, since the passenger also was unlicensed, police impounded Hart’s vehicle. While conducting an inventory of its contents, police found five antidepressant pills in a morphine bottle and added a felony charge of possession of a legend drug. There were additional medications in the vehicle, but all were in their legally obtained, original prescription containers.
