Drunken driver also had cocaine in car
A Valparaiso woman faces up to 50 years in prison for allegedly being caught with enough cocaine to deal while she was driving drunk on U.S. 30.
Justine Nicoloe Maresca, 26, is charged with Class A felony dealing in cocaine, Class C felony possession of cocaine and three operating while intoxicated misdemeanors. Her trial is set for July 8.
Police pulled Maresca over for driving 35 mph in a 45-mph zone and then a 55-mph minimum zone on U.S. 30 about 3:30 a.m. March 3, court records state.
Her blood alcohol level measured .11 percent blood alcoho, and then a Breathalyzer measured it at .12 percent. The legal limit is .08 percent.
Police found seven packets of cocaine weighing more than 3 grams in her purse along with $611.
Bail bond was set at $12,000 Wednesday. Maresca was not in Porter County Jail Thursday.
