For the second time in less than a year, a Valparaiso man is one of five finalists in Friday’s Hoosier Lottery Lucky Millionaire drawing.
Chris Ziegler was also a finalist last September, but didn’t win the $1 million prize.
Undeterred, he kept entering his nonwinning tickets into the “mylottery” second-chance drawing and one of his tickets was drawn Jan. 30. That earned him $500 and a second shot at the top prize.
“I’m shocked and excited,” said Ziegler. “It feels amazing, especially considering the odds.”
The drawing takes place at 1:30 p.m. at the Indianapolis St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival.
Ziegler is a veteran who served in the Gulf War with the Marines. He and his wife, Amy, have four children. He works as an EMT. He says loves his job and he won’t quit doing what he’s doing even if he wins the million dollars.
