FORT WAYNE — The last of three former athletes from Chesterton has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an incapacitated woman at a party in northeastern Indiana.
Former University of Saint Francis football player Austin Bower pleaded guilty to rape April 12 in a court in Fort Wayne. His sentencing is scheduled for May 13.
WANE-TV and The Journal Gazette report the victim told police in 2011 that Bower and two other men raped her when she lay down after drinking vodka. Investigators found apparent photos of the assault on Bower’s cellphone.
Alexander Beierwalter pleaded guilty to rape in January. He played one game before quitting the team.
Former basketball walk-on Troy Turner pleaded guilty to sexual battery Tuesday.
Neither has been sentenced. All three men are 23 and left the school in 2011.
