A roommate of Cunningham and the victim and the roommate’s boyfriend told police the victim ran out to them when they arrived at about 9 p.m. in the 100 block of Harmony Terrace and said she had been battered. Woman got in van when man threatened to crash it
Called to a domestic disturbance at about 10:01 p.m. Saturday in the 300 north block of Morgan Boulevard, police found a 14-year-old girl watching several children. The teen had not seen her mother since the 31-year-old woman had followed her step-father outside during an argument a short time before.
When the woman returned, she said she had gotten into the passenger seat of her van after Christopher Wright, 34, allegedly threatened to crash it so she would not have a vehicle.
Wright reportedly then started driving and wouldn’t let her go until she promised not to tell police anything. Before that incident, Wright had seen a squad car parked outside the apartment and allegedly punched the woman in the face and threatened to kill her.
Wright was arrested at about 10:51 p.m., at a relative’s home, on felony charges of criminal confinement and domestic battery and misdemeanor charges of intimidation and driving with a suspended license.
