Consumers curious about how to apply for and purchase health insurance under the new Affordable Care Act will have two more changes to learn about the law.
Two workshop sessions for applying and purchasing health insurance have been scheduled; one later this week and one next week.
The sessions will specifically cover information about the health insurance marketplace, how to use the healthcare.gov website to apply for coverage, compare different plans, and assist with enrolling.
Trinity Baptist Church at 1831 Virginia Street in Gary will hold a workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on this Friday, Oct. 11.
Another workshop will be held Oct. 16 at the Healthy Start Health Fair at Ivy Tech Community College from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The workshops are provided through the NIA Group, a non-profit financial literacy organization, and SDM Senior Insurance Services LLC.
The group will continue to offer workshops through March 31, when open enrollment ends.
Any organizations looking to provide information to members or businesses with fewer than 50 employees can call 855-220-5557 or visit www.myahc.us to set up workshops.
