Man accused of stealing diapers
A Terre Haute man faces a felony theft charge after allegedly stealing a pack of diapers from a South Haven merchant on Tuesday.
Dominick Iacobazzi, 65, reportedly put a 23-count pack of Huggies “Snug N Dry” size-6 diapers, valued at $10, under his coat and walked past the cash registers without attempting to pay for them, according to the Porter County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident occurred at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday at Family Dollar, 390 W. U.S. 6.
Dominick reportedly apologized to police and said his son asked him to purchase the diapers but he couldn’t afford them.
Car lands in ditch; driver charged
A Valparaiso woman faces an assortment of charges, including a felony for a prior charge of operating while intoxicated, after allegedly driving her car into a ditch just north of the former Pines Ski Lodge on Meridian Road.
The Porter County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the scene at 4:17 p.m. Monday, at 674 N. Meridian Road. Officers found Jammie R. Scott, 34, in her car in the ditch.
