Vehicle fire leads
to domestic battery
Richard Burke, 50, was arrested on charges of domestic battery about 10:19 p.m. Wednesday at his home, in the 300 block of Camelot Estates.
The 36-year-old female victim told police they were arguing because Burke accused her daughter of being responsible for his truck catching on fire that afternoon.
Burke allegedly shoved the woman onto a bed and slapped her in the face, and he reportedly attempted to prevent her from leaving the bedroom but a witness intervened.
The charge is a felony because a minor saw the alleged attack.
Man arrested after accusing woman of an attack
Found outside his home with a cut below his eye, Michael Mazur, 39, told police a 40-year-old woman hit him with a TV remote during an argument.
The woman, however, had minor injuries to support her version of the events, police said — that Mazur allegedly grabbed and twisted her forearms and shoved her in the chest, and the woman swung at him in self-defense.
Police arrested Mazur for misdemeanor domestic battery about 8:43 p.m. Wednesday in the 5500 block of Tulip Avenue.
