PORTER COUNTY — Police are looking for the man who drove his pickup over the owner of a snow blower that he stole at about 1 a.m. Thursday.
The victim received several lacerations and complained of pain in his arms and legs, so he was taken by ambulance to Porter hospital in Valparaiso, police said.
The incident took place in the 300 block of Pepper Creek, which is in a neighborhood along Indiana 149 and directly east of Wheeler.
Jon Talmadge, 43, whom rescuers found lying in the road, told police he went outside to investigate noises and saw a red truck in his driveway and a man loading his red snow blower into its bed.
He described the man as approximately 6-feet 2-inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds, with dark skin.
Talmadge tried to stop the driver, but the pickup kept going.
