Council members file in commissioners’ races

VALPARAISO – Two members of the Porter County Council filed Friday for seats on the Porter County Board of Commissioners.

Jim Biggs, R-1st District, who has previously served as a commissioner, filed for the 3rd District/North seat. So far, he will face incumbent John A. Evans in the May primary.

Laura Blaney, D-At-large, filed to run for the 1st District/South seat on the board of commissioners. Jerry A. Puckett filed to run for the seat on Wednesday.

Filing continues through noon on Feb. 10. Also filing Friday were:
