Quickly’s Neighbors, Jan. 25

Updated: February 26, 2012 8:03AM

The fact of only one resident attending a Gary Roos evelt information session says volumes about what the biggest problem is with this school: lack of parental involvement. If Gary hopes for a rebirth of its city, it must embrace education and its youth.

Business as usual in Gary. Today I hit three potholes and saw many stoplights flashing red. Mayor, please start with the basics of repairing our city.

I hope that the Lake County Election Board takes into consideration the inspector, clerk and judge who failed to follow election rules when they allowed a voter to wear a T-shirt with a campaign slogan into the polls to vote in Lowell. Why aren’t these people being held accountable?

Shame on the person in Hammond who chose to shoot a healthy dog instead of trying to find it a good home or taking it to an animal shelter.

I would like to thank the good neighbors on Coral Drive in Hobart who shoveled the entire sidewalk along the entire street for the mailman and for people to actually walk last week after the first snowstorm. I walk every day, weather permitting, and the sidewalks were spotless. I live on the best block in Hobart and appreciate all my neighbors!
