Republicans are trying to destroy unions because, historically, unions have backed the Democratic party. If they want to be fair, why don’t they restrict all donations, not just those to the opposing party?

Being in love is the greatest drug of all time.

Kudos to Chick-fil-A and other businesses that closed early Friday to allow their employees, for safety, to leave because of the snowstorm. Thumbs down to those businesses, due to greed, that stayed open.

The Community Corrections program is a step in the right direction. Helping the community is much better than taking up space in a cell.

If Lake County joined the Ethics Panel, how would officials handle the rampant nepotism problem?

To the writer who questioned using the term “union thugs:” Bullying, as in school bullies, certainly comes to mind. These are the same members who throw sharp objects in the roads leading to nonunion construction sites, trying to block vehicles — the same who try to intimidate others by use of force. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Right to work does produce benefits for free. It gives all Indiana citizens the increased chance for good-paying jobs. It is win-win legislation for the whole state.

I always wonder how dumb people can be when they say they will vote for anyone other than the current president. Really? Anyone? Do they understand how ignorant that is?

Quickly, I opened a new email because there was something I wanted to write to you, but as soon as I did, I forgot what it was. I’m getting old.

You can spend time at the doctor’s offices or at the gym. Take your pick.
