Quickly’s Neighbors, Feb. 9

In answer to the person wondering why the people in Black Oak dump their couches, chairs and mattresses along the roads, we don’t. It’s the people in Hammond, Griffith and Highland that can’t seem to find anyplace else to dump their garbage and we would appreciate if they would stop it.

I love Christmas and enjoy decorating my home. In one week it will be Valentine’s Day and the banners on the lightposts in Portage still wish us a Merry Christmas! Is there an excuse for this when the weather has been so mild? Come on Portage, have a heart!

Hey Big Jim: I just want to wish you a happy retirement from the Hobart Post Office.

We need a worldwide search for a Gary schools superintendent, and then pick the best person for the job.

There’s a high school student who actually blocks the bus every single morning in DeMotte. She goes out at the last second and walks right in front of the bus to stop it in the middle of the street. It’s quite dangerous.

Being that the St. Patrick’s Day parade is on a Saturday, I sure hope Crown Point gears up and anticipates the crowd. I hope they have enough portable toilets around the square so people don’t have to urinate in public.

As a student, I believe Indiana University Northwest needs to implement an official crosswalk on Broadway. I’ve seen cars both screech to a stop and fly on by — both are serious dangers to the students that are just trying to learn.
